𝐅𝐎𝐌𝐎 .. Do you know what that is? As resellers we all deal with this in some way. ⁣
⁣
𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐑 𝐎𝐅 𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐎𝐔𝐓. When I see great hauls or the posts where the resellers are in the thrift stores I want to drop everything and GO SHOPPING. ⁣
⁣
👗 Today I am having one of those days. It feels like a hard to control itch. I have plenty of inventory to list. It’s just I love the thrill of the hunt. And when I’m home I’m thinking about all the great things I’m missing out on finding. ⁣
⁣
👗 I actually made a bargain with myself that if I got all of my listings done and cross posted them I could go shopping tomorrow. ⁣
⁣
👗 Some resellers work with a budget to control their spending while others will only go shopping if everything is listed. NOT ME.. I want to find all the deals I can. ⁣
⁣

Only one day to go!
It make such a difference seeing the place set-up and ready for our first guests. This must have been what it felt like 57 years ago when Rita and Freddie first opened the doors. 
We’ve spent the last week sprucing, cleaning and sanitising. Making sure that we’re 100% compliant and ready to welcome you all back. 
For the next few months we’re going to be operating at 50% occupancy in order to prevent overcrowding and give our guests as much space as possible. 
This does mean that we’re filling up quickly. So if you haven’t taken advantage of our special reopening dinner, bed and breakfast rate yet don’t leave it too late!

Found myself tagging along on a @smilingtricoach challenge this evening just because I thought a bike ride sounded like a nice idea?! We took a few posed pics but I think this photo shows off how exhausted I am after my highest mileage week ever! Just 35km to go over the next two days?! Gonna be tough but think I can do it??!

1. Ваша зарплата $50 000, но все ваши коллеги получают $25 000.
2. Ваша зарплата $100 000, но коллеги получают зарплату $250 000.

Выбор вроде очевиден? Но если вы думаете, что участники исследования выбирали между 50к vs 100к, вы как и я весьма наивны. Потому что 56% участников выбрали бы вариант 1! Они готовы ухудшить своё материальное положение ровно в два раза, лишь бы не чувствовать себя ущербными в сравнении с другими.

Люди такие существа - они не могут быть довольны и счастливы без какой-то точки отсчета. Чтобы понять, зелёная у тебя трава или нет, нужен соседний газон для сравнения.

Или вот: на каждый $1 повышения зарплаты мы хотим $1,4 еще больше, думая, что уж эта сумма точно нас осчастливит. То есть счастье - это такое значение функции, к которому стремишься, но никогда его не достигаешь.

Ни достаток и материальные блага, ни любовь, ни внешность - ничего не даёт постоянного удовлетворения, только временное. И мы первое поколение, которое конкурирует не только с реальными друзьями и коллегами, но и виртуальными, сравнивая свой обычный день с их днём, который был достоин запечатления в инстаграме. Сколько я получала комментариев про #fomo и #кактыэтоделаешь, кто-то даже отфренживает меня регулярно 😅 Но если я удалюсь из инстаграма, вы себе найдёте новый газон с зелёной травой, я вас знаю ))
А что сделаю я? Почистила ленту, удалила фейсбук и купила новые кроссовки 😂.

I hear a lot from people, “I didn’t think you had a problem?!” Truth is, there was a problem... The problem was, I was bored and sad! Going out pretty much every night was all I really knew! I wasn’t blackout drunk, but I wasted a lot of my time and life. So, if you feel like a quick read, here’s my “journal” entry for my “milestone”... 🤪 “Amid a pandemic, this has been the longest, fastest, 8 months ever.
Losing people to an untamed virus has really put value of life into perspective.
I don’t miss alcohol.
I miss my social life.
I don’t miss the surface feeling of friendship with people who only seemed to care if you were messed up with them on a regular basis. (If you’re reading this, I’m prob not talking about you!)
I’m finding so much deeper joy in solid, meaningful friendships that are now being tended to and blossoming.
I can thank the slowing down caused by COVID, in part, for that.
There were only a handful of times I thought I had a “problem” with drinking. Being a bartender, alcohol just came with the territory.
My body has paid for 16 years of consumption being the “norm”.
I’m on track for healing and so grateful for putting myself in check before it became a bigger issue.
I think my advice/key to making it this far would be challenge yourself. If you’re a competitive person like me, the best thing you can do is BE THE BEST at being YOUR best.
Treat your body well.
Treat your loved ones well.
Don’t procrastinate anymore!
LISTEN.
Treat yourself the way you would want your most cherished loved one to be treated.
Life is so interesting in that it’s so different for everyone, yet, so the same.
“To change ourselves effectively, we first had to change our perceptions.” ― Stephen R. Covey” #sober it’s pretty scary to put myself out there, but hopefully someone will read this and let go of the #fomo and find a whole new world..
