Just completed my first 24 hour fast and here are my thoughts on it,

I broke it at 24.5 hours as Harry was cooking a lovely smelling healthy curry and I couldn’t resist.

I am going to list some of my thoughts below;

1) I didn’t feel as hungry as I thought I would be and probably could have made it through the night.
2) at the 18th hour I felt was my hardest and weakest and after that I got some crazy energy.
3) I was full up after about 3 mouthfuls of food so next time I will eat a lighter meal after my fast, I already knew I should have done that.
4) I will 100% be doing it weekly on a Monday as it made me feel really good and I know it’s not for everyone but for me it was amazing.
5) not sure if it’s placebo but I’m sure my coccyx (I get so much inflammation here) is feeling a tad better, I’m so excited for the health benefits.

I will be doing a 16:8 fast for on the other days between my deficit and maintenance calories, more towards my deficit though, I even done 10k steps with ease.

The difference between these pictures is going from a size 18 to a 12, 3 stone less, a different healthier mindset, but there’s one thing still missing, I’m still not happy with myself... I’m still striving for more. I think with weight-loss you just think this flick will switch and all of a sudden you’ll be happy within your own skin, and I’ve come to realise you don’t! That is a whole other aspect which needs work on itself, which I really need to start doing! How many times do we look back at old pictures when we thought we were “fat” and now we wish we were “fat” like that?? So many times, I wish we could just learn to live in the moment and enjoy how far we’ve come and where we are at. It really doesn’t come easy, but I’m going to work on it, rather than constantly taring myself down. Bit of a Wednesday morning brain dump for you there but I’m sure a lot of you can relate. •

The lack of satiation, and the fact they are hyper palatable, can lead to eating more and more helpings of 240kcals worth of biscuits, which in the grand scheme of things wouldn’t be great for your fat loss goals. ⁣

Creating a diet that includes a lot of high volume, lower calorie foods will lead you to feeling full, and satisfied, hopefully leading to less unnecessary snacking on low volume, high calorie foods. ⁣

For the last 6 weeks I have been on a mini cut/in a calorie deficit/in a fat loss phase. I haven't spoken about this until now for several reasons, the main one being I knew I wanted to do it whatever anyone thought and this being the first time I have purposely reduced my calorie intake I knew I would be susceptible to other people's opinions so I decided to keep it to myself. .
After eating in a surplus since the start of the year I wanted to try and lose some of the additional body fat I had gained, as is perfectly normal during a calorie surplus/bulk. I had got to a stage where I didn't feel comfortable in myself and although I was happy with the muscle I was building the thickness around my middle was bothering me.

This has given me a focus for the last few weeks but I was determined it wasn't going to rule my life. I told myself I was going to stick to the 80/20 rule and some weeks I would have two meals completely un tracked, some weeks just one, the main goal was 5 full days of calorie deficit every week and although most weeks I managed more than this I didn't give myself a hard time for having a meal or snack which meant I went over my target. Lockdown is stressful enough without beating yourself up over calorie intake 🙌

Tomorrow I will share my progress photos after 6 weeks, explain more about my calorie intake and how I've found the last few weeks! 😁
