As you saw in our previous post, immersion is one of the disciplines in finswimming. There are the races of 100m and 400m using a diving tank, which they are holding in front of them - above their heads.
Finswimmers, need to have even better technique underwater. Their fins are able to make a bigger motion and this way they take advantage and swim faster. Also, their hands have to be strong to hold the tank. The breathing is very important for the finswimmers. They have to control their breathing to keep air for the whole race!
If you like the speed, you'll love the apnoea! Finswimmers are racing for 50m with only one breath of air. They swim underwater as well, but without the tank. It's amazing how fast they swim! •IMMERSION: In 100m Men the World record holder is Lee Kwanho from Korea 🇰🇷 with time 00:31.24 and in Women Zhu Bao Zhen from China 🇨🇳 with time 00:34.46!
