“A Simple Presence Practice While Waiting”

Eckhart says it is not a situation itself that creates suffering, rather our mental commentary about the situation. Waiting in line is a prime example of this. Next time you're waiting in line and feel anxious notice what happens to your attention. Can you be there standing in line and grounded in Presence? If the line doesn’t move, do thoughts arise in judgment of the situation? Can you stand there with relaxed alertness, even enjoying yourself?

We would love to hear about your experience with this practice. Share with our community by commenting below!.

Lately I’ve been spending more time training stillness into my body.
Can I be comfortably still?
What do I notice when I am completely still?
Anxiety? Fear? Agitation? Tension?

How long do I have to stay in stillness until silence begins to unfold for me? Until relaxation and surrender start to move in?

I make it somewhat of a game and I find it easier to stay longer and to go deeper. It’s a meditation on stillness itself.

You don’t have to feel contained or restricted by the stillness either, you allow it to feel both free and spacious using your awareness. It’s about embracing stillness rather than forcing it.

I notice in these still moments my eyes often desiring more stimulation 🥺 and I wonder what all this screen time (and constant flashing of colours, texts and lights) is really doing to our sensory and nervous systems. It’s important to stop ✋ so you bring deeper presence to what is really going on for you? How are you repeating patterns in your life? sabotaging yourself? Being victimized? We need to see it all clearly if we are ever going to change these behaviours.

I hope some of you read this and are encouraged to have a still moment with yourself. Everyday. Maybe only a minute, maybe 20 minutes but either way - letting everything come to a complete stop and checking in deeply with how you feel? Holding yourself in how you feel (in a loving way) and making time and space for that to happen in you day.
Making time and space for your own healing and understanding. That is the meaning of your life 🙏 @arterium 📸 @aloyoga.

Embrace change which is a constant, for even in stillness there is movement. Even when it feels like nothing is happening, transformation takes place. .
I love movement as much as I appreciate quiet and stillness. We just need to find out how balancing these two looks like for each of us.

Let that sink in for a second, repressed emotions will lead to disease in the long run, there is many situations where it has been necessary to shut off our emotions because we felt unsafe, however often times we keep carrying these emotions around even tough your now moment is not unsafe anymore, therefore perpetuate our suffering in an unconscious way! We are now at a tipping point and a mass awakening which i feel is also a mass healing, we are going from survival and fear towards learning how to live from love and wholeness. Time to heal is now, you are safe, you are provided for, time to heal all of the repressed emotions in our bodies that have been there and perpetuated for eons! Not an easy task but we were made for this🎇🤗♥️.

@thoughtcl0ud CBD oil has been delivering beautiful calming effects in my life without the THC, which definitely messes with my psychological wellness as this point in life. I used to smoke Mary j all through college and honestly I began feeling slow, progressing very little and not getting much done day in and day out. I stopped completely during pregnancy but decided to indulge in an edible a family member made during a family party... the THC from the edible blew me into a full blown panic attack. It was severe, because my whole entire body went numb and it was like I was in an alternate universe 😬 it was not a pleasant experience and I swore off of marijuana for the rest of my days... Until this lovely brand made its way into my life! It’s completely alleviated my anxiety symptoms and calmed my heart rate tremendously 💚 I was eating my greens, Salads, everything! Drinking water, working out... EVERYTHING! The CBD Oil really did the trick, along with some much needed TLC.. 😆 So moral of the story is STOP SMOKING WEED because It’s not natural anymore! They’re raping these plants spraying them down with pesticides and so much more. You need organically farm grown products such as the CBD oil in this picture. You need to stop acting like smoking all day every day is normal because it’s not— you’re medicating yourself, and if you’re medicating so often, you’ve also got to admit that you are sick! Stop being SICK, Start Getting HEALTHY 💚.

there is so much wisdom, so many books, so many teachers, so many gurus out there that share their experience of mindfulness. to me it is in the end all the same chocolate but a different wrapper. ultimately it comes down to being present, and connecting to the stillness within. the universe will unfold fully to those in stillness. meditation is one way to do this, and in my opinion the most effective. i have been meditating for six or so years and i fully enjoy sitting down for thirty minutes focusing on my breath. was it always like this? of course not! the first 3-6 months are very hard, challenging, frustrating even and there are still ups and downs, good days and great days. think about learning to play the piano, do you think you’ll be able to play well in just a few weeks? most likely not, so keep up the daily practice and be consistent. ten minutes every day is a great start and all you need for now..

It’s hard to stay satisfied with today, with right where you are in your circumstances. When you’re feeling overwhelmed and under-appreciated, it’s okay if you want to leave.  In fact, you probably should step away for a few moments, if only in your mind, before you snap or yell or do whatever you do when you need a vacation.

Unplug for a minute, more if you can. Give yourself a brief vacation. Right now is the perfect time!.

I introduced side plank yesterday to one of my classes after seeing a student attempt something that looked like side plank. Their forms were all over the place. It was a bit of a mess, but the kids were having so much fun, I started taking pictures.

I introduced side plank yesterday to one of my classes after seeing a student attempt something that looked like side plank. Their forms were all over the place. It was a bit of a mess, but the kids were having so much fun, I started taking pictures. "Get me! Get me!" they kept calling. We have these spectacular spaceships we call bodies that we can travel through time and space with. I love how kids remind me that moving my body is a blast. They inspire me to return to myself, and begin again with a joyful heart. #sideplank #getme #honeyheartkidsyoga #kidsyoga #yoga #portland #mindfulness #mindfulkids #healthykids #fun #stillness #practice #yeswecan #thecolorsandthekids #namaste ...
