Excited to be heading out for a long run tomorrow morning 🤗 It's crazy to think that last year a long run would have been 10km, and the year before 6km would have done me in! 🥵 When I'm injured all i want is to get better so I can improve my running, but there's no rush with training - getting to grip with the basics leaves a good foundation on which to build strength, stamina and speed 🤗🏃🏼‍♀️ .
That's why I keep up my physio work even when I'm not injured, and continue strength training when I dont

Not my finest training session ever but I got it done. Sleep has taken a hit this week but sometimes life gets in the way and that’s ok. I’ve done the best I can to get everything done and still prioritise recovery as much as possible. Having one biiiig early night tonight 😴

Can’t complain that much though after possibly making my hip worse on the weekend by sleeping funny then deadlifting (yes, I know 🙄). Being able to go in and actually train, however bad it is, is better than physically not being able to train at all ☺️

Bring on a well needed rest day... but first deadlifts tomorrow 😅 wish me luck 🤞

I got my period back this week 😭🙌🏼 (sorry guys - maybe don’t read this caption 😂). I have been trying my best to do everything i can to get it back and it’s worked 🥰 Having a period is so important! It helps keep our bones nice and strong, enables us to have babies 👶🏼 (not yet don’t worry lol), improves our mood and makes our nails, skin and hair nice and healthy! 🤩⁣

Therefore, it’s SO important to try and get it back! I’m not going to lie and say i didn’t not like it missing it at first, cause let’s admit it.. it can be a pain 😫 (quite literally 🌚 lol) BUT, honestly girls, i was starting to get quite worried and apart of me just didn’t feel like a woman 😭 I got abit emosh when it came back because i had even booked to have tests done etc. and i just convinced myself it wasn’t coming back. ⁣

What did i do?? ⁣
- I reduced my stress (in life & my training stress) as much as possible. I tried to plan my days and set just a few tasks each day to get done so i wasn’t overwhelmed. I tried to reduce my training abit (thank you to @hayleymadiganfitness for her advice with this) but i also made sure i ate more when i did high vol sessions such as at crossfit. ⁣
- I gained a few lbs.. but let’s be honest, most of it has gone to my bum lol and i don’t really mind being abit heavier in the winter 🥶 plus i got my period back SO who cares about a few lbs. ⁣
- I tried to not worry 🙅🏼‍♀️ and was patient (well i tried 😂). ⁣

Sorry if that was tmi but i think it’s⁣
so important to spread the word about the importance of a period!! and i don’t think we talk about it enough, especially in the fitness industry. So girls, let’s get chatting about it so that no one feels embarrassed about getting help to get it back ☺️😘⁣

woke up with an urge to bake and HERE WE ARE 🤩🤤
CBD OLIVE OIL CITRUS CAKE, can i get a what what!!!
no joke i’ve spent the entirety of my morning staring at this creation like a proud mama bear protecting her baby cub lol.
this cake is loaded with fresh citrus, full spectrum hemp olive oil from @curednutrition, and a whoooole lotta love!! you gotta make this y’all 😭

RECIPE || cake!!
1 ½ cups whoe wheat flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons citrus zest (I used 1 big grapefruit)
¼ cup fresh grapefruit juice
½ cup organic granulated sugar
¼ cup maple syrup or honey
¾ cup plain icelandic yogurt (0% fat, but full fat works too!)
3 pasture raised eggs
½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
½ cup @curednutrition extra-virgin olive oil
glaze!!
⅓ cup powdered sugar
2 to 3 teaspoons fresh grapefruit juice
1 cubed frozen beet (for color)
what u gotta do 👇🏽
preheat oven to 350. butter + flour a loaf pan. in a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt. pour the sugar and maple syrup into another medium-sized mixing bowl, mix. Grate 2 teaspoons zest from your fresh citrus fruits and add it to the bowl. mix the zest into the sugar until the sugar takes on fragrance of the citrus.
whisk the yogurt and juice, eggs and vanilla into the sugar mixture until well blended. whisk dry into wet. fold in @curednutrition olive oil, making sure it’s all incorporated. pour the batter into pan and smooth the top.
bake the cake for 50 to 55 minutes and let cool.
glaze:  add powdered sugar into a small bowl. whisk in just enough grapefruit juice to make a thick glaze that drizzles easily. Add in frozen cubed beet while mixing to make the glaze a pink color - take the beet out when done and drizzle over a cooled cake!

I think it’s important to listen to your body when you’re not feeling well. You can still go to the gym if it feels right but don’t push yourself. Going to the gym religiously 5 times a week is excellent until winter comes, work is busy, you finish late constantly so are constantly exhausted, trying to balance working full time alongside going back to university 😴🎓📚 Need to not be so hard on myself, the gym 3 times a week is perfectly fine.

For the past month I’ve stayed completely focused on just cardio. 
I wanted to get some “fluff” off before I started to lift weights and I’m so glad I did it this way. 
Cardio is the part of exercising that I really dislike. But making it be my main focus it’s becoming my routine. I feel lost if I miss a gym day, and I don’t like when I miss my 30 minutes of cardio. .
This week I’ve started to bring in weight lifting and I’m even more excited to see my body change!
